Description

Aozora Matcha is an organic variety from the mountainous Isagawa region in Shizuoka (altitude: 300 to 600m) where organic tea plants thrive without pesticides or chemicals thanks to the clear, cool air and nutrient-rich soil. The natural shade and slower growth at high altitudes result in an exceptionally flavourful tea.

If you enjoy matcha tea over matcha lattes, this one is for you. When prepared as tea, it delivers a delightful mellow sweetness with subtle roasty notes.

Important Tips for Enjoying Aozora Matcha

1. Sifting is required

Aozora Matcha is made using a traditional stone mill, and sometimes the matcha tends to clump up more than other grind methods. For some reason, the difference is much more perceivable for Aozora Matcha compared to other of our matcha.

Every purchase of the Aozora Matcha comes with a complimentary sift. We highly recommend that you sift this matcha before preparing it.

2. Optimal water temperature: 65°C or lower

To fully enjoy Aozora Matcha as tea, we recommend using water at a temperature of 65 degrees Celsius or lower. The exceptional quality of Aozora Matcha truly shines in a tight range of water temperatures.
